Dry Practice Ep. 4

Updated: Dec 1, 2025

Dry Practice Ep. 4 is an exercise I got from another shooter (can't remember who, let me know if you know). Its called or at least I call it click-bang. It is an exercise to help build split times and help keep tension out of your shooting as well as a grip confirmation exercise. Enjoy.

all right hey what's up guys so today

0:11

we're going to do episode 4 which is a

0:14

dry fire exercise uh I I don't know the

0:17

actual name per se uh I just know it as

0:20

click bang now the the purpose of the

0:23

exercise is to try and get us to be on

0:26

the trigger right uh almost the entire

0:29

time so as we let out enough to get some

0:33

form of reset in the trigger which will

0:35

probably happen sooner than you can

0:36

actually do it and then get back on the

0:39

trigger as soon as possible to start to

Trigger Press

0:41

speed up a little bit of our splits it's

0:43

a a simple exercise I think I believe I

0:45

saw it uh for the first time with either

0:48

JJ

0:49

Raza or somebody else that I can't

0:52

remember but I'm sorry if I can't

0:54

remember if this was your exercise that

0:55

you're watching this video let me know

0:58

um but uh I've trained with a lot of

0:59

people so it's really hard to like

1:01

remember some of these exercises or

1:02

where they came from so uh if I'm not

1:05

mistaken it was JJ Raza but either way

1:07

it is going through the trigger right so

1:10

for this exercise you're going to need

1:12

your

1:12

blaster unloaded obviously uh you'll

1:16

need a timer um this is a small one that

1:20

AGM sent me uh it is actually really

1:23

kind of cool for dry practice cuz it's

1:25

so small it's really simple to have on

1:27

you and uh honestly doesn't take up any

1:30

space and it weighs almost nothing um

1:32

and it's super duper simple so kind of a

1:34

cool one um I'll show you guys how it

1:36

works in in a little bit too so with

1:39

this exercise the way it'll work is

1:41

you're going to take your blaster um you

1:43

are going to make sure it's unloaded you

1:45

are going through the original trigger

1:47

press right and you're going to hold

1:49

right and what what we're doing is we're

1:50

not we're not practice pinning the

1:52

trigger but we are practicing going

1:54

through from the back of the trigger

1:57

press right so let's say we've already

1:58

pressed through like you would if you

2:00

were shooting and then now you are going

2:02

back through the trigger press like so

2:04

is and that's what we're looking for now

2:07

with with with the motion that's

2:09

happening with our hands now what's kind

2:11

of cool about this one it's going to

2:12

express a few different things what

2:14

we're looking for is that the dot once

2:16

again just wobbles on our little uh

2:19

reference point that we have on the on

2:21

the board that I'm going to transition

2:22

to in a little bit but it's also so that

2:25

we can kind of start understanding like

2:27

hey how far out does my finger actually

2:29

have to move to start getting faster and

2:32

faster with it so if you want faster

2:34

splits you got to have to understand the

2:36

travel of your gun that way you're not

2:38

overdoing it where some people overdo it

2:41

and they come off completely or come off

2:44

slightly off their actual triggers area

2:47

causing inputs into the gun which

2:49

honestly don't matter if your grip is

2:51

good enough but at the same time can I

2:53

refine my grip with this exercise as

2:55

well as continue to refine the way that

2:57

my finger is moving on the trigger to

2:59

help me out a a little bit so it's not a

3:01

trigger reset exercise it's actually

3:03

still a grip exercise but it is trying

3:06

to teach our finger or teach us how far

3:09

to actually move this thing as we go so

3:11

that we can actually speed up split

3:13

times and other things like that so we

3:15

can actually get a little bit faster so

3:17

super cool exercise I'll transition over

3:19

to where you guys could see through the

3:21

gun and then uh and then we're going to

3:22

rock on so guys really quick uh little

Timer

3:25

bit on this little uh timer which is

3:28

actually really nice from AGM lab so uh

3:31

to turn it on really quick it's just

3:33

that M button and then there's a bunch

3:34

of other modes to it but uh right now I

3:37

simply just have it on a delayed go so I

3:40

will be hitting the Go Button standing

3:42

by with my trigger and then once that

3:44

beep goes off I'll be pressing it to try

3:46

and activate this this process so super

3:50

simple but that's the way this little uh

3:52

timer goes it's really easy you press

3:54

one of the arrows to make it stop and

3:56

then you can kind of review your work

3:58

from there but obviously we're not

3:59

shooting so we're not seeing any work

4:01

but that's how I'm using this timer

4:02

super duper simple um the delays can be

4:05

random up to 2 seconds or 4 seconds it's

4:08

actually kind of cool so really cool

4:10

little timer uh once again really small

4:12

so you literally can't like I mean

4:15

you're going to lose it if you don't

4:16

keep it on lanyard kind of thing so

4:17

something to think

4:21

about cool so that's what we're looking

4:23

for right it's simple not a lot of

4:27

movement and for it to to do what we're

4:30

looking for which that one kind of moved

4:31

a little bit released that

4:43

trigger all right good so that's what

4:45

we're kind of looking for we're trying

4:47

to see if there's too much tension in

4:48

this this hand that we're not able to

4:50

you know release and and press again and

4:54

also if you are crushing down on this

4:56

hand you're going to see some different

4:57

things so let me show you some problems

4:59

that people have have so uh instead of

5:01

using this timer we'll just go go flat

5:02

out so some of the problems that people

5:04

have right they'll overdo the the grip

5:06

on the right hand so first you could see

5:08

it's already shaking more but then

5:10

you'll see

5:11

this right and we'll see like a ton of

5:14

movement whether it's a release right of

5:16

the trigger that kind of shifts a gun in

5:18

some way uh usually lateral and then the

5:20

Press which is going to be hard and

5:22

heavy because we're so much tension

5:24

we're going to push it down usually so

5:26

little things like that we we want to

5:28

obviously if you start seeing those

5:30

things loosen up what your right hand is

5:32

doing and allow your left hand to do all

5:35

the things it's supposed to do which is

5:37

to grip the [ __ ] out of the gun right so

5:40

making sure that you're prepped in this

5:42

manner right for the starting of the

5:44

exercise where your finger sorry I'm

5:46

trying to get into the focus but I have

5:48

it focused on the target for you guys um

5:51

this F or sorry the the trigger already

5:53

to the rear all right the gun already

5:55

reset and then on the beep going through

5:57

the trigger press and try to make make a

5:59

better one so that one was kind of

6:02

yuckies all right better right and

6:05

depending on the size Target you use you

6:06

got to be acceptable or understanding of

6:08

the

6:09

target cool so that last one was

6:12

actually a really good uh representation

6:14

of of a good rep so hopefully that helps

6:17

guys and uh that's the

Outro

6:20

exercise so guys that was the exercise

6:22

nothing crazy about it very simple uh

6:25

once again takes you a few minutes to do

6:27

every day and can get you a lot out of

6:29

it versus uh just ignoring it and being

6:32

on Instagram scrolling around so please

6:35

give it your time uh play around with

6:37

these exercises if you didn't see the

6:38

previous two exercises go back to the

6:41

two previous episodes or even the first

6:43

episode where we explain why dry

6:44

practice is important and what you're

6:46

kind of going to need um I think in that

6:49

uh episode I forgot to talk about timers

6:51

but we definitely need timers for that

6:52

so whether it's a phone app or you buy

6:54

one it's well worth it so hope that

6:57

helps guys if you have any questions put

6:58

them below take care
