Low Vis Ep. 2. Episode 2 shows an example of everyday carry as well as some tips and mindset about it. Enjoy.
all right hey what's up guys so today
0:12
let's talk about everyday carry now I
0:14
know it's probably been blown out uh by
0:16
a billion different videos but um here's
0:19
my flavor on it right so I I believe
0:21
there's about three different levels of
0:24
everyday carry right there's the stuff
0:26
you carry in your pockets and then there
0:29
are a couple couple different levels and
0:31
uh you'll see those in different videos
0:33
but everyday carry uh isn't just like
0:35
what you carry in your pockets in my
0:36
opinion it's also uh the way that you
0:40
set yourself up for Success so uh as you
0:42
saw in the previous video right we
0:44
talked about uh clothing and the your
0:47
appearance I think that's a really big
0:49
part of it now on this one we're going
0:50
to talk a little bit on on your mindset
0:52
to it right when it comes to concealed
0:54
carry or being a low visibility in some
0:56
form or fashion cuz that is the most
0:58
realistic one or of all the types of uh
1:02
I guess loadouts or or setups that you
1:05
can you can make
1:07
yourself low visibility is going to be
1:09
the the highest uh or most important one
1:12
to me right um being loaded out for an
1:15
assault or uh like reconnaissance or uh
1:19
anything like that is way less common or
1:22
way less necessary for me personally uh
1:25
but it is something that I do want to
1:27
have right so I want to be I want to be
1:28
more versatile now on with everyday
1:32
carry it should be something that can
1:34
sustain you for normal daily stuff right
1:38
so every day um no no difference in your
1:42
environment based off of what you do so
1:44
if you spend uh a day just hey I get up
1:47
in the morning I have a cup of coffee I
1:50
go to the gym I leave the gym I go to
1:52
work from work I go home like and
1:55
nothing crazy or I may go out to dinner
1:57
or something like that if that's your
1:58
normal day-to-day like you don't need
2:01
most of the time I I won't say
2:03
everything that you need but uh most
2:06
people or myself I don't need a folded
2:08
AR and a backpack I don't need a plate
2:11
carrier standing by I probably don't
2:13
need a bag that's going to be set up for
2:16
me to do long long-term sustainment in
2:18
the woods you know things like that I I
2:20
I won't need that stuff it's just normal
2:22
day-to-day now if I suspect something is
2:25
aai in our environment which is getting
2:28
worse man uh but if something's getting
2:30
worse and worse maybe I'll prepare that
2:32
stuff in like my vehicle or something
2:35
like that but I don't need to carry a
2:36
backpack into work uh unless that is the
2:39
necessary stuff that you need for your
2:41
life so everyday carry for me is usually
2:45
what I carry in my pockets right and
2:48
then I have everyday carry like let's
2:50
say plus which is plus a backpack and
2:53
then there's lastly everyday carry plus
2:56
holy crap the world's kind of really
2:58
crummy and people are rioting a lot and
3:01
maybe I need to be a little bit more
3:02
prepared or have a little bit extra
3:04
stuff because the cities that I'm going
3:07
through or the city I am going through
3:09
is a [ __ ] hole all right so if that's
3:12
the case I need to be more prepared but
3:15
it is based off of you your environment
3:17
and what you do daily right like we want
3:19
to pay attention to that uh I will say
3:21
none of this stuff or none of your cool
3:24
equipment or whatever is uh going to be
3:27
like useful to you unless you actually
3:29
practice with it so if you don't know
3:30
how to practice with your equipment man
3:32
go back to the previous uh series of uh
3:36
episodes I had on here about dry
3:38
practice and maybe get yourself some dry
3:40
practice or get yourself some training
3:41
highly recommended because if you are
3:43
carrying a gun uh even carrying a blade
3:46
and not having yourself some idea on how
3:49
to use them and how to defend against
3:51
them and how to use them offensively and
3:53
understand what your legal ramifications
3:55
for using each of them are then you may
3:57
have some trouble and not just that but
4:00
after all that's done how are you
4:02
managing uh medical stuff so how are you
4:05
managing what you have to do with
4:06
medical so highly recommend you kind of
4:09
look at that now on the table is uh a
4:12
bunch of the stuff that I carry every
4:13
day uh it's not everything and sometimes
4:15
they vary based off of what I'm wearing
4:17
so it is something to be aware of but
4:19
I'm going to get a closer view of
4:20
everything and kind of give you guys a
4:22
tabletop view uh or somewhat tabletop
4:25
view so you guys can uh see things a
4:27
little bit better but overall this is
4:30
just equipment right it's what's up here
4:32
that's important and how you employ
4:34
things that's important so this is just
4:37
everyday carry stuff all right guys so
4:39
now we have our little tabletop and
4:41
let's go over like first line like
4:44
literally the first thing or only thing
4:46
I carry uh most of the time now it's not
4:49
all this stuff at once right uh I don't
4:51
carry four different knives it's just
4:53
the variety that I will carry based off
4:56
of what I'm doing or what I feel like
4:57
carrying or what I think I'm to need
5:00
that day or what just what I want right
5:02
like you can carry what you want so
5:04
we'll start out first thing right um is
5:07
we're going to we're going to talk about
5:09
all well we'll go with the firearm right
5:10
the thing that most people want to know
5:12
and it honestly hasn't changed uh in
5:14
years right I carry the same thing and
5:17
I've been practicing with the same thing
5:18
and I'm very happy with the same thing
5:21
uh that I've been carrying for a very
5:22
long time and that's my Glock 19 so my
5:26
Glock 19 made or done up by agency arm
5:29
Ms uh I would say I think it was like
5:32
2017 that they did it right and did it
5:35
for me uh it is still my Favorito uh
5:38
still using it it's still mil for an RMR
5:40
so I just keep an RMR on there and um
5:43
and I actually started carrying it uh
5:46
with a turbo instead of just the regular
5:48
X300 that I had on there previously and
5:51
I also use it uded so as you can see
5:55
like my dots not seethrough um there's
5:57
some reasons for that obviously there's
5:59
practice reasons but there's also carry
6:02
reasons why I like that a lot um and and
6:05
they may interest you in the future um
6:07
it's something I talk about in most of
6:09
my classes so uh that's what I carry on
6:13
the inside I carry gold dots either 12
6:15
124s or 147's whatever I have in stock
6:18
that I have with me and I do shoot my
6:21
carry ammo um I would say probably every
6:25
every couple months I will shoot it and
6:28
uh and use it for practice for cold
6:30
exercises uh when I first get to the
6:32
range and actually go through that mag
6:34
and then refurb the mag uh later so like
6:37
I'll bring ammo so that I can refurb
6:39
before I leave but highly recommended if
6:41
you have that kind of budget or you're
6:43
able to to shoot your carry ammo uh get
6:47
a good glimpse of what your ammo is able
6:50
to do and also get comfortable with
6:52
shooting the ammo and then also get
6:55
really comfortable with the or sorry get
6:57
confident with the fact that you can
6:59
shoot very well with this G ammo and
7:01
this gun and not be um curious about
7:05
your or maybe not curious just not be
7:09
sure of what you're doing or what you
7:11
can do with this setup so highly
7:14
recommended if you carry a gun um that
7:17
you actually practice with it and you
7:19
don't have to like beat it up like a
7:21
training gun or something but if it's
7:22
the only one you have like I did for a
7:24
long time uh that is what I've got so
7:26
that's what I'm going to practice with
7:27
so I carried a a a Plain Jane Glock 19
7:31
prior to that with with a DOT M on it so
7:35
uh having something a little sexier over
7:37
the the course of the few past few years
7:40
has been way better and uh and it is
7:42
nice it is nice to shoot so uh in it or
7:45
what it's carried in is a tacor uh
7:47
holster it is their light bearing one I
7:50
cannot remember the name to save my life
7:53
I always forget but either way uh they
7:56
did modify it slightly for me and uh
7:59
Jeff's going to hate me for this but uh
8:01
he doesn't offer this service but I
8:03
don't I I I like that they they or I
8:06
hate that not hate I dislike that cut
8:08
they make over here cuz my guns do get
8:11
hot and I do train with my guns a lot so
8:14
I don't like that cut out so I had him
8:16
full length this thing and I do carry
8:18
with a 34 length holster so that I could
8:20
put a 17 with threaded barrel or a 19
8:22
with thread Barrel or whatever I want in
8:24
there and it's anyways it's the same
8:26
length as my light that I carry on there
8:28
so it's not like it's adding any extra
8:30
so I like the length to it it's
8:32
something that helps uh conceal it but
8:34
it also helps me uh train with it so I
8:36
can actually you use it for a bunch of
8:38
stuff now every once in a while I'll
8:39
carry without a light and it's their
8:41
other uh non-l carrying or non-l bearing
8:45
holster and uh I do like that one but uh
8:49
most I would say probably 80% of the
8:51
time I carry with a light and about 20%
8:53
of the time I carry without one so just
8:56
something to be aware of uh now I do
8:59
carry a spare mag I like carrying a
9:01
spare mag it balances the system more
9:03
than anything um but I do carry a spare
9:05
mag and I I carry one of the txc uh mag
9:09
pouches that allows me to can it uh I
9:11
like it caned because I can carry it in
9:13
a way that it won't get in the way when
9:15
I move or do certain things or bend over
9:17
uh it is kind of nice but I do carry a
9:19
full 17 size mag with an aerod Dondo
9:22
base plate uh with the same ammo in it
9:25
obviously uh so just something be aware
9:27
of if you carry a spare cool if you
9:29
don't cool like you do you man you know
9:32
you know your environment the most now
9:35
kives right cuz that's how they're
9:38
spelled uh I carry different knives for
9:41
different reasons so if I am going out
9:44
and I know I'm going to be more in a
9:45
wooded area or doing more Woodsman based
9:49
stuff I like carrying this amtac one now
9:51
the amtac one it sits deep in my pocket
9:54
which I really really like so it'll sit
9:56
deep in my pocket and I can reach down
9:58
and hook it with my pink essentially and
10:00
pull this whole thing out and it's a
10:02
nice blade it's it's very sharp it's
10:04
pointy it's not humongous so it offers
10:07
me a really nice cutting surface but
10:09
also uh some serration for different
10:11
cordage and things like that it also
10:13
comes with a Ferro rod on the the sheath
10:15
or at least I like the Ferro rod on the
10:18
sheath and then lastly you also have
10:20
this like velcro backer area which I
10:23
actually keep a set of lockpicks in uh
10:25
they're just thin titanium bogatas so
10:28
really tiny tiny little lock picks that
10:31
help me kind of do certain tasks when
10:33
necessary but it's one of my favorite
10:35
knives I I do like carrying it and I I
10:37
like using it for a lot of different
10:39
things so that's one then I do carry a
10:42
shivworks clinch pick I do like cwork or
10:46
shivworks knives I know they're not like
10:48
the the most well-knit made knives there
10:50
are some guys that make really nice
10:52
versions of these um but dudes I use it
10:55
for cutting boxes I cut anything with it
10:58
um but it also conceals really really
11:00
well uh because it goes on the Belt like
11:02
sewi is right in the front and all I
11:05
have to do is reach up to it and I'll
11:06
grab this big ball that is the handle
11:09
and I can yank this thing out just be
11:11
aware if you ever buy one of these they
11:13
are reverse blades so if you're like one
11:14
of those dudes that likes to put your
11:15
thumb up there you will slice your thumb
11:17
a lot so don't be that guy also I would
11:20
say uh shivworks uh their classes ecqc
11:25
ewo um are two of my favorite classes
11:28
out there to go take
11:29
and I like to take them often like I
11:32
like to take them more than just once
11:34
twice three times cuz they are that good
11:36
and they are they're a damn good workout
11:38
but uh but you get a lot out of those
11:40
you get a lot of inoculation to stress
11:42
you also get a lot of skills that you
11:44
wouldn't have thought of and then those
11:45
of you that are already Fighters uh
11:47
you'll enjoy the [ __ ] out of that class
11:49
so it's a good time employing uh weapons
11:51
into it then we have a couple of G10
11:55
knives this one I just recently got from
11:58
train monkey
11:59
and uh and it is a really nice blade
12:02
it's one of his little like hey he's
12:03
messing around with different things to
12:05
try and and create some nice G10 blades
12:07
so it's really nice I just started
12:09
messing with it but I I do want to carry
12:11
it more so I started to and it is it is
12:14
a nice knife man it's a G10 knife so
12:16
when it comes to G10 stuff the usually
12:19
I'll wear these when I go to places that
12:21
I cannot carry a regular one or one of
12:24
these guys and uh and it helps a lot um
12:28
the one thing I will say about his
12:30
sheath setup because it uses this button
12:33
and the strap uh it is not it is not
12:36
metal or sorry it has metal to a certain
12:38
extent so it can be detected so I when I
12:42
do when I do plan on carrying this I'm
12:44
probably going to unbolt this and do
12:46
some kind of 550 cord thing so something
12:49
something to try out or something to
12:50
play around with uh so just still still
12:52
playing with it but I like it the most
12:55
often I carry this one from black
12:58
triangle
12:59
and uh and it's literally just a
13:01
humongous shiv it's one I bought years
13:04
and years ago I don't think he makes
13:05
this one anymore or if he does it's
13:07
probably in a different sheath now but
13:09
it is a really nice one the sheath is on
13:12
there with shock cord or the clip is on
13:14
there with shock cord so the whole thing
13:16
is metallic L and doesn't have any
13:19
metallic parts or or components so it is
13:22
really nice to carry especially in uh
13:25
like concerts or metal detector venues
13:29
right so something to be aware of but uh
13:31
I would not condone uh carrying any of
13:34
that stuff if you're going to a place
13:35
that says they can't you're not allowed
13:36
to All That Jazz legal legal stuff and
13:39
uh and then moving on from knives right
13:41
or kind of still still on that same path
13:45
um I do carry a tool Like a Knife tool
13:48
on me all the time so I like the
13:51
Leatherman uh it it the skele tool it
13:54
has been one of my favorites for years I
13:55
use it I want to say more than once a
13:58
day
13:59
uh every single day it it gets used all
14:02
the time so the blade uh is trash blade
14:05
so it will like lose its sharpness or
14:08
its Edge really really quick um but it's
14:10
for cutting boxes and cutting random
14:12
[ __ ] like just slicing stuff when I need
14:14
to uh it does have this prototype thumb
14:17
thingy in it I used to put like a zip
14:19
tie here but um the guys at Firearms
14:21
Depot started messing around with a 3D
14:22
printer and they made this like pushin
14:24
version which is exciting I hope they
14:26
actually produce those but I think
14:28
Leatherman doesn't make their uh knives
14:31
exact so it's going to be slightly off
14:34
if they do produce them so we'll see um
14:37
and if you've ever seen a skele tool
14:39
it's got a bunch of different little
14:40
tools right like bits and pliers and a
14:43
knife nothing crazy it's it's probably
14:46
one of the smaller or more Slimmer
14:48
multi-tools out there that's why I like
14:49
it so much and as in as a teacher right
14:53
like instructing people and stuff I do
14:55
use the smaller bits right like smaller
14:59
head bits so I can adjust Optics or pry
15:02
things or anything like that it's really
15:04
really
15:05
useful all right so something simple uh
15:08
but it's it's very useful for me and
15:11
what I do on a normal basis then we have
15:14
my pen nothing crazy like it's just a
15:17
little pen I like caring a pen because I
15:19
like writing things and I like being
15:21
able to write things so something that I
15:23
would suggest um usually have like pad
15:26
of paper or like a folded up paper like
15:29
folded big piece of paper so that I can
15:31
write on it in different manners uh that
15:33
way I have a little notepad to carry
15:35
with me as well and I usually keep that
15:37
in or around my
15:39
wallet then my phone nothing crazy just
15:41
a phone uh I I like having chapstick on
15:46
me but I use non chapstick version right
15:50
like lip balm a more natural one so uh a
15:54
little bit better for your body and uh
15:58
and also it it is one of those that is
16:00
unscented so it doesn't taste like
16:01
anything or smell like anything I like
16:03
that it's it's very easy but because I'm
16:06
a tropical man that travels to dry
16:08
environments I 100% need it so um wallet
16:12
nothing crazy it's uh I forget what the
16:14
brand is let me see if it's on here
16:17
belroy so it's just a belroy rot wallet
16:19
that also has like uh what is it nfmi no
16:24
I forget what the what the protector is
16:27
but essentially you can't scan and my
16:29
cards out of this thing and I like this
16:31
wallet a lot I'm able to hide um
16:34
lockpicks in it as well as cash and
16:36
things like that so it's pretty sweet
16:39
it's a nice wallet it's very simple it's
16:41
just a clamshell style so it opens up
16:43
like sewi is um and that's it then uh
16:46
flashlight I like carrying a big boy
16:49
flashlight uh mainly because it not only
16:52
acts as an impact tool but it acts like
16:54
a very bright flashlight so I can use it
16:56
for a lot of different things um some
16:59
people complain like hey like what if
17:01
you need a task light or like to find
17:02
your keys that's what your phone light
17:04
is for man uh so I like little lights
17:07
for that kind of reason or you could
17:08
also just grab this put your fingers in
17:10
front of it and then shine it like this
17:12
and then it's a smaller more minimal
17:14
light so uh the downside to big lights
17:17
like that and Powerful lights they get
17:19
really really bright so they get hot at
17:22
that point so you're you're going to be
17:24
you need to be aware of that uh don't
17:26
want that to click on in my pocket and
17:28
then burn a whole in my
17:29
pocket lastly some medical so I do carry
17:33
a uh combat gauze in here uh as well as
17:37
one of the snake staff wide tourniquets
17:40
uh I do like them I don't know if the TC
17:43
has has approved them at all but I have
17:46
not seen anything really significant or
17:49
a significant difference between this
17:50
and the cat so I I I'm pretty trusting
17:53
of it so that may be uh naive of me or
17:57
not but I really like it so because it
18:00
is a smaller form factor and it offers
18:02
me the ability to put my combat gauze in
18:04
the same little plastic or not plastic
18:06
elastic thing and shove this in a pocket
18:09
pretty easily I really really like it so
18:12
something that personally I I'm using so
18:15
if I get to use it live you guys will
18:17
know um last thing is the way that I
18:21
started carrying my clip on my pocket
18:24
tools right is like sowi is so I started
18:28
carrying them like this so that the
18:29
clips aren't available for other people
18:31
to see um on a normal basis all right if
18:34
I travel this is how I kind of try to do
18:36
it uh to keep everything kind of in line
18:39
where I can pick it out of my pocket
18:40
because it'll sit in my pocket like this
18:42
and when I reach in I can just pull what
18:44
I need do the things I need and then put
18:46
it back in uh I will also carry my
18:49
wallet on the outside to give it a
18:52
wallet look from the outside of my pants
18:55
so it's really useful and that way I can
18:58
obscure the the fact that I have other
18:59
tools in here and not be picked out of
19:02
the crowd because uh if you guys watch
19:04
my previous video it is something that
19:06
I'm conscious of and I don't like
19:08
happening I don't like people noticing
19:10
that I have tools or things on me um
19:13
these pocket Shields are from Raven
19:15
concealment and this one I cut down I
19:17
sliced off the other wing of it I do
19:21
wish they made one that was kind of like
19:22
this big because not everybody's pockets
19:24
are ginormous so I may actually trim
19:28
this one down even further but it's a
19:29
really thin malleable plastic so or
19:32
polymer or whatever the heck it is and
19:34
it's really easy to trim down and
19:36
they're not expensive so you can get a
19:37
couple of them trim them how you want
19:39
and then set them in your pockets how
19:41
you want so it's kind of nice it's a
19:42
it's a very nice way of carrying my
19:44
stuff I really like it and it keeps
19:46
everything somewhat low uh visibility
19:49
which is what is my preferred and then
19:51
lastly sunglasses now I usually wear
19:54
Oakley's uh I start wearing these bolt
19:56
and arrow ones uh because they look like
19:58
normal people glasses um I do have some
20:00
Oakleys that look like normal people
20:02
glasses too so I'm I kind of switch off
20:04
between them but it just depends on what
20:06
I'm doing uh but most of the time I wear
20:07
something like this uh so that they look
20:09
normal I look normal I look like I fit
20:12
into the normal environment and I prefer
20:14
that um and then I use a Garmin watch
20:17
which I've thought about different ways
20:19
of getting a different one so that I
20:22
don't look as tactical or using a
20:24
different watch for different
20:25
environments so um I do have some other
20:28
options
20:29
there um but it's up to you right like
20:32
what you want to wear and how you want
20:33
to wear it and where you want to wear it
20:35
so this is literally what's on my body
20:38
one of these at a time if if one of
20:40
these at a time sometimes I don't carry
20:42
a knife um but that's what's on my body
20:44
normally um obviously a belt so my belts
20:48
I vary on two different types uh one is
20:51
the tacor belt I love this belt it's
20:54
really good and I usually use the inner
20:56
version so that I could always put my
20:58
outer belt belt on it um and then the
21:00
other one is the blue Alpha Inner Belt
21:02
so I like both those belts they work
21:04
really well the only time I don't wear
21:06
those is if I have to tuck in my shirt
21:08
or I'm wearing a suit or something fancy
21:10
or have it to look good then I wear a
21:13
regular belt and most of those are
21:15
regular belts um there is one that I use
21:18
and I can't remember the name of it
21:19
right now but I'll try and put it up on
21:22
here if we need to but that's that's all
21:24
all my carry stuff that's my everyday
21:25
carry stuff and like I said if you
21:29
didn't watch the previous video uh
21:31
clothing is going to be a big part of it
21:32
shoes are going to be a big part of it
21:33
your bags and also like what you what
21:37
you carry that's available for people to
21:39
see right off the bat so I I want to be
21:42
the most obscured if I can and try to
21:45
wear things that are very normal So
21:48
shirts my type of shorts or type of
21:50
pants or type of jeans or type of shoes
21:52
or type of whatever Plus the way I
21:55
conceal all this stuff to make it look
21:57
like it's normal and and I'm not
21:59
carrying anything extra is very
22:00
important to me so if it is to you man
22:02
something to experiment with
22:04
unfortunately there's no recipe for
22:05
everybody to have the the easiest or the
22:10
like dress like this and it's perfect uh
22:13
we all have to dress towards our
22:14
environments and we have to wear or
22:16
carry the thingies that are going to get
22:17
us dayto day or make us feel like we're
22:20
good dayto day um the way I look at like
22:23
what I carry on my body guys is usually
22:26
it's stuff I don't want to go to my car
22:28
to to go get so or it's so vital that I
22:32
can't go to my car to go get so if if
22:35
you're like looking at this and you're
22:36
like there's no chest seal and there's
22:37
no pressure bandage and there's no like
22:40
rifle or whatever like that's because I
22:43
am okay going in my car to go get those
22:45
things versus like not having a
22:47
tourniquet on me not having uh uh gauze
22:51
on me right like a combat gauze or
22:53
hematic gauze right not having that
22:55
stuff on me not having a knife when I
22:57
need it not having a pen when I need it
22:59
I don't want to go to the car to go get
23:00
a pen right like things like that I
23:02
don't want to go to the car to get my
23:03
phone right so so same with my wallet
23:05
same with my gun same with all that so
23:07
the way that's the way I look at it if I
23:09
want to go to my car to go get it or if
23:11
I'm okay going to my car to go get it or
23:13
go to my backpack that's in my car or
23:14
something like that then I will do that
23:17
so uh on the next video we'll talk about
23:20
like scaling this up to the next level
23:22
all right so if you have any questions
23:24
put them on below take care
